one down.....
....the other to finish. It's all made up but I'm attempting some embroidery....we shall see how it turns out ;)
This was pretty easy to make actually. I used part of a pattern I had for the top and just cut a nice wide skirt to gather for the bottom half. I'm pleased with the way the scalloped edge worked at the hem. I did have a little bit of trouble when the machine decided it wasn't going to play ball with the buttonholes but we got there in the end after much swearing and exasperation. I found some pretty pale blue trim that my Mum had given me (and had used on my clothes I think), so that tied in nicely with the vintagey feel.
She likes it too, most importantly. Satisfaction !

Hello there. First time I have found your blog and it's gorgeous; I see you live in Devon - I'm in Cornwall so probably not too far away. Love that nightie though would get my little girl to wear it in the day as it's so pretty xx

Pretty! Velma would like that too! I hemmed and hawed for days over a pair of peter pan collar cotton pj's. There a pair with cherries and a dark pink pair with white trim. But they cost 18.50 euros and I thought that was so ridiculous. Still I can't get them out of my mind. I really need to learn to sew!

What a clever girl you are Asti...
Your dear little Maddie will be so proud of her Mum's talents when she is older..
I remember my Mum making me beautiful clothes too and embroidering them also. She made my son some wonderul duvet covers when he was very young, embroidering teddies and his name on them. They are treasured and hopefully one day I will pass them on to my grandchildren.

HI,
Thanks for stopping by. I use a product in the U.S that may be in England as well. It is the Crisco spray can. This one also has flour in it so when you spray it, it saves that step. I also sprinkled a bit of sugar, but only because the recipe said, other wise I just use this spray.
Is your pan non stick? This one is.
